back to satire

It's not that easy bein' green;

A note to the environmentalists - this is just a work of satire. And getting offended just contributes a bit to global warming...

Being Green

It's not that easy bein' green;
Having to spend each day fixing Al Gore's pet peeves.
When I think it could be nicer being dead, or
recycling gold-
or something much more devious like that.

It's not easy bein' green.
It seems you throw away so many other ordinary things.
And people tend to pass you over 'cause you're
not drinking special kinds of bottled high-class water-
or driving cars with prices that are high.

But green's the duty of every living thing.
And green can be cool and friendly-like.
And green can be big like an ocean, or important
like a mountain, or tall like a tree.

When green is all there is to be
It could make you wonder why, but why wonder why wonder?
I am green and the Earth is my shrine,
it's dutiful!
And I think it's what I want to be.
